Haiti Montage

Mar 08, 2010

A week after the devastating earthquake hit Haiti, I was hired to shoot ENG footage for two international networks. This is a montage of personal footage I shot of the aftermath during my spare time, in and around Port au Prince. We were in Haiti for a total of 6 days in which 2 of those days were spent traveling to and from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Due to the situation on the ground, all the footage was shot in 2 days, under direct sunlight and a great deal of pressure. As demanding as it was, it taught me how to pick shots on the fly, and in “not so perfect” lighting or shooting conditions.
In regards to equipment, we traveled very lightly as security and logistics were our main concerns at that time. Once again the Kessler Pocket Dolly proved to be an essential tool in capturing my images.

Khalid Mohtaseb was hired to shoot ENG footage in Haiti for some international networks after the earthquakes. This is a montage of the footage he captured in his spare time around Port Au Prince… pretty incredible.

Set in the distant future, Connected is a story about survival and greed with a post apocalyptic wasteland as its backdrop. Survivors of an unknown disaster shuffle through a desolate landscape, as it quickly becomes clear that not everybody has the strength to survive.

Connected is an inspiring short sci-fi film produced by a group of Danish students. Set in the distant future, it tells a story about survival and greed with a post apocalyptic wasteland as its backdrop. Survivors of an unknown disaster shuffle through a desolate landscape, as it quickly becomes clear that not everybody has the strength to survive.

Mike Sabo

Dec 12, 2009

As young kids our “uncle” Sabo first introduced us to comedy by bringing over toys and then telling us they were for his local orphanage. By the time I was a young aspiring designer, I would spend hours working with Sabo on his various soap identities, brands and packaging and learning about the personal care business in between his rants about politics and the Clintons. We will greatly miss uncle Sabo and infamous laugh.

Movember

Nov 01, 2009

Movember is the month given to November where men start clean shaven and commit to growing a Moustache to raise funds and awareness for men’s cancers – specifically prostate and testicular cancer. While growing a Mo is left to the guys, Mo Sistas (women who support their guys) form an important part of Movember by recruiting Mo Bros, helping to raise funds and attending the highly anticipated Gala Partés.

50 Years of Space

Oct 17, 2009

The beautiful infographic “50 Years of Space Exploration” [nationalgeographic.com] shows exactly the content denoted in its title. A delimited line on the bottom shows the relative distances in interstellar space, and the current positions of our most distant spacecrafts, such as the Voyager 1 and Pioneer 10. However, the most persuasive part is the nice visual accumulation of fly paths of historic space missions, which clearly shows our past interest in Mars, the moon, the sun and Venus, and the relatively few visits to asteroids, comets and other, more distant, planets.
